     Today is October 3, 2015. We are at Mississippi State University with one of the best experiences ever! GAETI is great! It is a wonderful Fall day. It is actually cold, because it has been such a warm Summer!
     We began by talking about the new school year. We talked about the use of technology in the class in a presentation to the group. It was great to see everyone.
I used Google Earth to find the Great Wall of China on the map.

          GAET2015 What a Wonderful Crew?
WOW! It is June 26, 2015, the last day of our Summer GAETI2015 Workshop. We will meet back on October 3, 2015.  First we finished to our Lesson Plan. Then we completed our survey for GAETI2015. Then we were given our CEU Registration/Post GAETI Evaluation by Dr. Kun.
Then we presented or ePortfolio/Lesson Plan Presentations. We all had Lunch in the same room. Mrs. Latham and I traded cookies because she does not like dark chocolate.
I feel we are all a big happy family. We have learned so much and shared so much. Some of us got new positions and are extremely happy about it. oh, I forgot the Art Teacher gave some awards that made us feel really good. It was so interesting and we are so glad to be at the end, because my friends and I from KCSD have not had a break.hard work.The person rolls the globe on mountain. - stock photo

June 25, 2015. Today is Thursday!!! I am very happy to have made it through this workshop with one more day to go. Today we skype with a gentleman from Turkey. His name was Karsat Cagiltay. He was very interest and gave us a lot of knowledge about Turkey. He said the population was 76-80 million. Olive oil is their biggest product. His language is Turkish. Half of Turkey is in Europe and the other half is in Asia. Turkey has much biblical history. Turkey is a little bigger than the state of Texas.
Today was filled with work and presentations in Art Class. I hope I will be ready for tomorrow!!! Noah's Ark found in Turkey....

Winding Down!!! Today is Wednesday, June 24, 2015. We begin with Padlet with Dr. Sang Joon Lee. The we went to Infographic and next we made an had introduction to "Making Audio Content". Then just before Lunch we did Canvas 101. In infographic we learn to do charts and graphs. We visit Weebly to add more information this morning. After Lunch is always great with Mrs. Latham Art Class. Today we fired the glass to mold it to go on our artwork. The title of my art is "Knowledge is Power", it is a real statement.

We went through "How to build a Simple Canvas Course? I feel I could do this better with written directions. It was very hard to follow all the step using this to develop a course for the first time.TechMaine's technology jobs board can help you find a great career ...

Today is Tuesday, June 23, 2015. We begin with "Overview of Remaining Assignments", this included a copy of every groups letter on BYOD. The we completed our "Digital Storytelling with Flat Stanley Video Production Finalization". This was quite the learning experience. Mr. Crawford took the lead. Our video was called, "Flat Stanley's Day".  It was great!

Today is Monday, June 22, 2015. This marks the last week of GAETI 2015. We begin our morning with Technology Policy Letter Collaboration. We worked in groups to develop a letter to the district on BYOD. We want to convince them that "Bring Your Own Device" will work for our students.
We worked on the Digital Storytelling with Flat Stanley with photos/video clips.
The afternoon was spent working on The Lesson Plan. It was confusing but good. Then last today is Art. We made it!!!
 


Today is Friday! The date is June 19, 2015. Everything has been great. I am in my own personal ozone. My life is wonderful. This workshop has been such a plus for me. From developing websites to making our own video. Ms. Jeannette Bennett was great, extremely informative. She came bearing gifts. Teachers love free stuff!
We set up a Prezi account with Dr. Lee.
We did Digital Story Telling with Dr. Beriswill.

Today is Thursday, June 18, 2015. We continue our work on WebQuest with Dr. Lee. After  break, two groups presented. One presentation was on the Civil War and the other on The Importance of Tooth Care.
Dr. Lee showed us many different usable websites: Doceri, Knowmia Touch, Prezi, Notability Popplet and Penab.
Next, we viewed a video on the iPad called "iPad for the Classroom". Dr. Lee asked, "What technology/devices are you using in your classroom?". Chicago Public is using technology, it is the third largest district in the US.
Art was great as usual. I started putting depth to my work and begin to glue it down. I am so looking forward to seeing my finished product.

Net , we created a newspaper. It is titled  GAETI GAZETTE. I think it is very informative. Then we had to share this document. It has been a WHOLE-LOT today!!!

Today is Wednesday, June 17, 2015. I arrived a little lost because I did not know what room the class was located. We talked and listen to Mr. Miguel Alaron from Concepcion, Chile. Mr. Miguel answered many questions about his country. It was amazing to hear and see him all the way from South America.
At 10:00, we begin creating an Online Presentation. Then Dr. Lee taught us how to put it on Youtube.
About 11:00, we walked to T. K. Martin Center for a tour. There were many wheelchairs and lots of information. the man told us he works with the Department of Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy. He also said they work with the Wounded Warriors Project.
After lunch, it was time for that awesome class ART! It was relaxing and as wonderful as usual.
At 3:00, we got a new book called Web 2.0 How-To for Educators. Then we work on WebQuest.
all and all again A+ for TODAY!!!!

Today is June 16, 2015. Dr. Lee introduced us to Canvas. This is very interesting, next we had Ms. Powers with copyright and copywrong. She explain the legal/illegal part of copying others work. Then we did the online information search.

After lunch, we did Art with Mrs. Latham which is always great. 
Then Storying with Dr. Lee and developing a Web Portfolio and last Daily Reflection.
All in all very informative.

Today is Monday, June 15, 2015. This is the third week of GAETI 2015. This morning we were greeted by Dr. Bracy. We begin discussing School /District Policy Involvement  and BYOD the pros and cons. Working in small groups, we explored pros and cons of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). We presented our lists and discuss what most of us thought.
After lunch we had that wonderful art class with Miss. Sunshine. It was work but very enjoyable.
Afterward, we had Mrs. Nashandra James with the topic
"Benefits & Implementation of a 1:1 Program. She brought information on how devices are being used at Madison county Schools. Their Motto is "Mark of Excellence". Instead of the 1:1, it is 1:Many. The video is wonderful how happy and proud the students were to have the device. It helps to see how others are implementing such an awesome program.
"The goal is not only to help each child reach his or her fullest potential; but also for each child to excel". I feel this statement says it all.

Friday, June 12, 2015, GAETI 2015 begin with Dr. Kathy Morris as our facilitator. The first session was led by Mr. Nick Timmerman on Native American Civil Rights. This was very informative. We discussed how the American Indian has been stereo-typed in Hollywood and other ways.
After this we went on a tour to Library to tour the Grant Museum. It was amazing to see actual letters written by Grant and to know that more people attended his funeral than any other president.
Later about 1:00 pm, Arts and Crafts time. On my art work, I messed up but was able to fix it. Mrs. Latham is a great teacher. We are bonding and enjoying our time together. Later we went to the Cobb Institute of Archaeology for a tour with Mr. Dylan Kargas. It was very interesting. I took pictures to share later. Next was our visit to the Dunn Seiler Geology Museum with many interesting displays. Later we visit the lab to look at Google Earth once again...What a Day!

Thursday, June 11, 2015, it another day's journey with GAETI 2015. I feel I have learned so much today. I don't know how I can get my head through a door. The 21st Century Skills are very, very necessary. we want to teach student to be able to communicate and collaborate in the real world.
Ms. Kimberly Lane brought a lot to the table with Live Binder and Kid Blog, Blended Learning and Flipping the Classroom, also how to go online and use audio applications. I have join Live Binder and Kid Blog to use in my new position if possible.
The art class, "Exploring Culture Through Art" with Mrs. Angela Latham was awesome. We ended with "The Art of Lesson Planning" with the Lesson Template Review. Thanks for Everything!!!

Today is June 10, 2015, Day 8 of GATI2015. First, Dr. Quinn gave us an overview and objectives from yesterday. We also discussed ISTE standards which is International Society for Technology in Education. I especially enjoyed the information on the Smart Board and how to get training. Copying the Lesson and completing the Lesson Plan Mini-Project and working in small groups was very interesting. Art and Crafts with Mrs. Latham was super and looking forward to more to come. Making the board game was a real challenge, but in all every thing was awesome. Thanks...

The First Day for the Rest of Life with GAETI!!!

Today has been most informative with knowledge of Understanding By Design (UbD). This was said to be working backward. We discussed Depth of Knowledge (DOK), writing performance objectives and planning with Dr. Kun Huang.
We also had Mr. Michael who show us how to use a Zip Grade use our phones and further information on tomorrow.
After Lunch, we had Ms. Linda Clifton and Ms. Connie Gusmus. The talked to us about TRAC and RIDES, an educational outreach. During we constructed bridges and tested them with weight. My bridge held the ring, the bucket and broke with the second bottle of water. I was happy about how well it held up. I got an understanding of what it takes to make it stronger. Mrs. Stovall held the bucket and six bottles of water. Next we are building a web portfolio.

Today is Day 5 of our new adventure. We begin 21st Century Skills. We begin with Dr. Bracy and skills in the classroom and skills in the workplace. Etiquette, character skills and business ethnics and interpersonal skills are all very important.
We had a guest who talked with us about Donor Choose and Go Fund Me...There are ways to get donations for classroom needs. Last the information that came from the Mississippi Highway Safety Programs. This program is to decrease youth motor vehicle fatalities and injuries by improving seat belt usage.

Today is the fourth day of GAETI 2015. We started our day with an introduction of our driver Jeremy. We made a list of questions that we wanted to know about the mine. He took us safely on our trip to the Red Hills Mine and back. We were given a great presentation there and lunch was very good. Just looking at the work that goes on there was exciting. It is a total different site from the rest of Choctaw County. The work that is being done is very wonderful and a help to the area. We completed an activity after our tour. All and all it was a good day.

Today has been another very interesting day. Mr. Vinnie from MDE was filled with helpful information. We discussed Common Core, Lesson Plans, and work on analyzing a lesson plan. He was very helpful in helping us to understand Mississippi College-and Career-Readiness Standards for English Language Art , which is really a new name for common core.. I felt good about this because I have used the standards in teaching Science. We discussed what RI. 6.1 means...RI for Reading Informational..6 is for sixth grade and 1 for the first standard.
We had an interest outside activity finding and later making instructional games.

Day 1:Introduction to GAETI

First we introduced ourselves. Second, we had housekeeping 101. We were give guidelines for GAETI. We discussed competencies and the fact that Common Core is now known as MSCCR (Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards. We were informed on ISTE, which stands for International Society for Technology in Education. Some information was given by Dr. Bracy as we scan the Mississippi Department of Education. We had a tour of MSU Campus. I had lunch with new collogues/friends. The library visit was very beneficial learning about Magnolia. Last but not least Dr. Beriswill helped us to create our own Blog.
